Real Madrid’s Aurélien Tchouaméni responded to criticism from Real Sociedad winger Takefusa Kubo via social media. After Sociedad’s match against Real Madrid, Kubo expressed his dissatisfaction with the refereeing during his post-match interview, especially after two of Sociedad’s goals were disallowed—one for a foul and the other for offside.
Kubo particularly mentioned an incident where he scored a goal that was nullified because VAR determined that Tchouaméni was fouled by Ander Barrenetxea. Kubo disagreed with this decision, suggesting that Tchouaméni had been fortunate with the call and stating, “They (Real Madrid) were lucky.”
In response, Tchouaméni took to his official X (formerly Twitter) account early on Saturday, reacting to Kubo’s remarks with just a ‘raised eyebrow’ emoji .
